The object of the game is to put the ball through the basketball hoop more times than the opposing team. There are two teams on the court at a time, each trying to score on the opposing team’s basket. Each side will be trying to prevent the other to score in their basket, making it more challenging to win.
The core objective in a basketball game is to score points by putting the ball inside the hoop (basket) and to prevent the opposing team from doing the same. A basketball game starts at the centre of the court when the ball is thrown high up by the referee and one player from each team competing to gain possession.
OBJECTIVES: Learn all fundamental and basic basketball-specific skills (build overall sports skills). A 70:30 training to competition ratio is recommended.
